2024 Apprentices

What is MTS?

In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus tells his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” At St Paul’s, we have long been praying that prayer, and MTS is one of the means that God continues to use to answer it!

MTS (the “Ministry Training Strategy”) is all about ministry apprenticeships. We as seek to raise up godly men and women to spend two years training as an apprentice under one of our experienced pastors. Christian ministry is as much about one’s life as it is about one’s knowledge or skills. It’s more caught than taught. So spending time ministering alongside our ministers, watching them, reading the Bible together, learning how to speak God’s word into the lives of different people, is one of the best gospel ministry foundations someone can get.

Our hope and prayer is that our MTSers will go on to take the life-changing news of Jesus to our city, our country, and the world, in all sorts of ways – as the next generation of pastors, evangelists, church planters, missionaries, chaplains, and more.
